Wall Mural Installation in Florida City

The short answer

WallStyle Installers installs panel and roll murals in Florida City homes, matching every seam so the image reads as one piece. Send us the mural dimensions and a photo of the wall, and we will confirm fit, prep and timing before you order.

A wallpaper mural is one large image split into numbered panels, and it only works if every panel lines up with the next. Miss by a quarter inch at the top and the horizon tilts or a tree trunk jogs sideways halfway across the wall. WallStyle Installers puts up printed murals for Florida City households, a drive of about 12 miles south from our Miami location. Kids' rooms, home gyms, dining walls and entryways are the usual spots. Here we explain how a mural install differs from regular paper, what we need from you before the visit and how we keep the image straight on walls that are rarely perfectly square.

Measure Twice, Order Once

Most mural makers print to the size you give them, plus a small bleed for trimming. If the wall is measured wrong, there is no extra roll to fall back on. We recommend measuring width at the top, middle and bottom and height at both ends and the center, then using the largest numbers. Many South Dade homes have ceilings and corners that drift slightly out of level, which is exactly why the bleed exists.

If you have not ordered yet, we can measure for you during a short visit and point out obstacles such as outlets, a thermostat or a window return that will cut into the picture. Moving a key part of the image away from a light switch is far easier on the screen than on the wall.

How the Panels Go Up

We begin by laying out every panel on the floor in order, checking that the numbering matches the print and that nothing arrived damaged. Then we snap a plumb line where the first panel lands, usually starting from the center or from one side depending on the design. A face or focal object gets positioned so it lands at a natural eye height and is not sliced by a door frame.

Each following panel is matched to the image on the one before, not to the wall edge. Bleed is trimmed at the ceiling, baseboard and corners only after the full image is in place, so the picture stays continuous even if the room is not.

  • Inventory and order check of every panel
  • Plumb line and focal-point placement
  • Seam-by-seam image matching
  • Final trim at ceiling, floor and corners
  • Cleanup of adhesive along seams and trim

Surface Prep Behind a Big Image

A mural covers a lot of uninterrupted wall, so dents, nail pops and old anchors stand out more than they would behind busy patterned paper. We patch and sand those, then prime with a product rated for wallcoverings. Dark existing paint may need a lighter primer so it does not shadow through thin or pale prints.

Exterior walls in Florida City are often concrete block with an interior finish. We check those for dampness first. A block wall that sweats during the wet summer months can lift the adhesive and leave the mural bubbling across a large area.

Types of Murals We Hang

Murals come in several constructions. Traditional paste-the-wall nonwovens are forgiving and come off cleanly later. Pre-pasted versions activate with water. Vinyl-coated murals resist fingerprints and are good in playrooms or gyms. Peel-and-stick murals suit renters and smooth drywall, though they are less tolerant of texture and humidity than paste-applied products.

Popular subjects include landscapes, tropical leaves, city skylines, maps, abstract washes and custom photographs. We install what you choose and will tell you if a particular material is a poor match for the room you have in mind.

Timing Around the Weather

Adhesive cures best in a room that is cool and stable. Through the hot, humid months from May to October, we ask that the AC run on its usual setting for a day before the visit and stay on for a couple of days after. During hurricane season, which lasts from June 1 to November 30, we can move the appointment if a storm watch is posted, since an outage while the paste is still curing is exactly what we want to avoid.

Starting Your Mural Project

Reach out through the contact form with the mural link or file, the size you ordered or plan to order and a straight-on photo of the wall. We will confirm whether the dimensions fit, what prep is needed and a date for installation. Homeowners in Homestead, Cutler Bay, South Miami, Coral Gables and Sweetwater can book mural work with us the same way.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Honest assessment

If a wall is too damp, too textured or a poor match for the paper you picked, we say so and suggest a fix or an alternative before work begins.

  2. Careful layout

We measure, check pattern repeats and plan where each strip lands so the finished room looks balanced from the doorway.

  3. Clean, respectful work

Floors and furniture are covered, fixtures are removed and replaced, and paste and trimmings are cleaned up before we go.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 933-9440 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you install a mural I bought online?

Yes. Most of the murals we hang are ordered by the homeowner from an online printer. Share the product details so we can check the material and hanging method.

What if my wall is not square?

That is normal. We plumb the image off a true vertical line and use the bleed to absorb out-of-level ceilings and corners.

Can a mural go over textured walls?

Light texture can show through. We may suggest skim coating or a thicker material so the image looks smooth.

How long does a mural install take?

A single wall mural is usually done in one visit, with more time if the wall needs patching or a primer that must dry first.

Can the mural be removed later?

Nonwoven and peel-and-stick murals over a proper primer generally come off without heavy damage to the wall.

Ready to plan your walls?

Tell us about the room, the paper you have in mind and your timing. We will set up a visit to look at the walls and talk through the next steps.
