The short answer
Yes, we work in Kendall West, about six miles north of our Miami base, installing and removing wallpaper and repairing walls. Here is what install day looks like and how to care for new wallcovering in a humid home.
Kendall West lies on the western side of the Kendall area in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, roughly six miles north of the WallStyle Installers base. Plenty of homeowners here have never hired a wallpaper installer before, and the most common worry we hear is simple: what actually happens on install day, and how do I keep the result looking good afterward? This page answers both. It covers how we prepare, how a typical day unfolds inside your home, and how to care for a new wallcovering through humid summers and long stretches of air conditioning.
Getting ready: what we ask of you
A little preparation on your side makes the work faster and keeps your belongings safe. Before our arrival, it helps if you can:
- Move furniture toward the middle of the room or into another space
- Take down artwork, mirrors, shelves and curtain rods on the walls being covered
- Set the AC to a steady temperature and leave it running
- Keep pets and small children out of the work area
- Have your wallpaper rolls or mural panels on hand, unopened, with labels intact
Install day, start to finish
We begin by protecting floors and baseboards, switching off power to outlets on the work walls and removing cover plates. If old paper is still up, Wallpaper Removal comes next: scoring, soaking, peeling and washing the wall clean of residue.
Then comes Wall Preparation and Repair. Holes from anchors get filled, cracks are taped and sanded, and any torn drywall facing is sealed. Primer goes on last, and it has to dry before hanging starts, so on rooms that need heavy repair, prep and installation may fall on separate days.
Hanging begins at a plumb line, usually in a corner or at the center of a feature wall depending on the pattern. Each strip is matched to the one beside it, smoothed, and trimmed at the ceiling and baseboard. We finish by reinstalling cover plates, wiping paste from trim and cleaning up the room.
Which service fits your project
Standard Wallpaper Installation suits most rooms. Accent Wall Installation focuses on one wall for a strong statement. Mural Installation involves numbered panels that must line up precisely, and Ceiling Wallpaper Installation calls for extra prep since every flaw shows overhead.
For texture, Grasscloth Wallpaper Installation brings natural fibers that do best in dry, cooled rooms. Vinyl Wallcovering Installation is the practical pick for kitchens and baths. Peel and Stick Wallpaper Installation works for renters and short-term looks. For businesses, Commercial Wallcovering Installation uses heavier, cleanable materials.
Caring for wallpaper in a South Florida home
The first few days matter most. Paste continues to cure after we leave, so keep the AC running and avoid aiming fans or vents straight at the new wall. Small bubbles sometimes appear while the material dries and often flatten on their own within a day or two; if any remain after that, let us know.
Over the long run, steady indoor conditions are the key. The months from May through October bring heat, humidity and frequent afternoon storms, and a home that swings between closed-up cool air and open, damp air puts stress on any wallcovering. Run bathroom fans during and after showers. Wipe vinyl with a damp cloth and mild soap; dust grasscloth gently and keep water away from it.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. If a storm cuts power and the house warms up for a while, look over your walls once things return to normal. A loose seam caught early is a quick fix.
